@packhawk I've seen what happens to individuals who air out dirty laundry amongst this company, so I am going to politely refrain from discussing my identity at all. What I can tell you is that I've had a front row seat to observe Automag's dealings with relation to the "butting of heads" following the investor group getting involved. I'm not a troll, and not here to cause trouble, I just firmly believe those who purchased this gun and exist in it's orbit are owed the actual facts of the situation.

The interesting bit about all of this is there are a little over 2 dozen investors who privately contributed to Automag's revival, and now all of the sudden, on the heels of this TRO hearing, Patrick is not only able to build guns, but rushing them out the door. We were at an absolute stalemate for the better part of a year getting guns built, let alone shipped for reasons unknown. That is to say, it's interesting how Patrick can now do this expeditiously having burned through the totality of said investor's capital. Millions of dollars vanished into thin air, with absolutely no plan or roadmap for how to pay them back. No capital for production, R&D, Marketing, anything. But suddenly, guns are being built and shipped based on the chatter in this forum and beyond.

All in all, it's a net positive and massive win for the customers, which I am grateful for. However, there is an entire layer to this saga that you all have been shielded from as it would destroy the going narrative. The truth will eventually be revealed, but in the meantime, I am elated to hear so many of you are receiving what you paid for.

I may seem like an adversary for trying to correct the record, but I am indeed a friend and maintain all of your collective interests.

Is there a current list of orders , what’s remaining, and estimated rate of completion per month ?

@hutch38 Lynette an I are working on on it. I have been organizing the physical files and matching them up with the list we currently have because we do not have our production software currently. We are trying to get it done but it is just two of us upfront right now doing a lot of different jobs. If I don’t get it done today. I will work on it this weekend and should have it on the website soon. Just so you know are going by order date

I received my Automag last week. I was #11 on the list. I hope everyone above me received theirs. I got a chance to fire a few rounds today, despite the weather. My initial test load was 19.0 gr 296, Lyman 429421, 250 gr cast, sized @ .431, in cut down .308 cases, 1.680 OAL. The fired cases ejected about 3 feet. The gun is beautifully finished, with a 4 lb trigger pull. My biggest complaint, is the bolt is almost impossible to cycle. I got blood all over the gun, from the rear sight tearing up my hand. I had to get a padded glove, and even then it was quite difficult. For safety reasons, I put an empty magazine in the gun before attempting to retract the bolt. This way the bolt locks back on it's own. I then load the magazine, insert, and release the bolt. I prefer the slingshot method. I was uncomfortable trying to charge the gun initially with a loaded magazine, fearing an accidental discharge, with the muzzle potentially pointed at the lower extremities. I conveyed this concern to Rob, and he was going to get me a cocking assist tool. Also he stated there is a video out there, on tips for operating the bolt, he would supply me a link to. I thought one of the "improvements" was reduction of cocking effort. My old TDE Automag was much easier to cock.

Despite, the retracting the bolt issue, I am quite pleased with my Automag, and I am in no way dissatisfied. I would like to hear what others think of their Automags.

One thing I discovered on my son’s gun was that a new magazine I had purchased for myself a couple of years ago was very slightly different dimensionally to the one that came with his gun.

Try removing the barrel, let the bolt forward gently, then insert a magazine with the bolt forward. There should be clearance between the magazine lips and the underside of the bolt. With respect to my magazine, due to a slight dimensional difference the magazine was hard up against the bolt, which made it impossible to retract it by hand. The gun would cycle, but the bolt was machining the magazine (or magazine machining the bolt).

Check for a certain amount of clearance. Consider removing the recoil springs and reinstalling the recoil rods with no springs, and with the barrel removed and magazine inserted, see if it will cycle easily. The only resistance should be coming from the bolt rotation spring. That should be easy to overcome.

It should go without saying that all these experiments should be conducted with the hammer cocked. You don’t want to be fighting that too.

The gun is difficult to cycle, even with the magazine removed.

How is it with the recoil springs removed and recoil rods reinstalled? Does the difficulty lie with the recoil springs or the (hammer) mainspring?

I haven't removed the recoil springs yet. I will get to it tomorrow. I always cock the hammer first, before charging, even with the 1911's.

My automag was also very difficult to cycle by hand when I first got it, but after some use, it has become much easier to cycle by hand.

elizawinbaum - Dont feel bad, there is an odd behavior among the folks that have put up money for the new Auto Mags (and maybe a few others) that they tolerate no disagreement with the group or anything that is other than complementary of the new gun or the company. I have been attacked countless times for simply speaking my preferences and for any questions that appear to challenge ANY aspect of this project. In the end I am comfortable that I have done NOTHING wrong and so I continue to speak my mind and challenge that which either makes no sense or in not truthful. This dysfunctional and bullying mentality of the few taints such forums for everyone, and yet it is not only tolerated by the masses, its almost encouraged. You are either on the bandwagon or treated like the enemy, dont settle for either! I encourage you to be an honest and independent voice here, and if that doesnt work, feel free to join us on the Auto Mag page on Facebook where we will not tolerate bullying of people for simply speaking their opinions and preferences and speaking the truth so long as they do so without attacking anyone else. Your posts will be valued and you will not be attacked with accusations of being a troll just because you say something other than what some people want to hear. In the end, I think we all want to see this project be successful, something it has not yet been in 8 years, but still could be if they get their act together. Hoping for all who have paid, that the latest court and other drama has had a positive impact getting people closer to not only getting what they paid for, but toward making the Auto Mag what everyone was promised.  ATB - GH

I tore the gun down this morning. With the recoil springs out, and barrel removed, there is still quite a bit of binding of the bolt. It appears to be mostly centered on the staked in cross pin, that cams the bolt. I guess this is just the nature of the beast, being it is tightly fitted. Getting the cocking assist tool, and just shooting it, should eventually correct this issue. Not really complaining, just an observation.

So I am normally a very patient person and am waiting for my 8.5 high polish ordered June 2021, I liked the case and challenge coin so I paid in full and ordered two extra magazines for the mere sum of $4,421.21.  Would like to think it won't be too much longer.  Would like to ask if the guns currently being shipped or recently shipped are 180's or Ravens ?  The term "Automag" does not differentiate between models. Saw an order number that was recently received that was a higher number than mine.  The last 'wait list' I saw had a lot of 8.5's on it, my number was 82.  Thanks to Rob for being back on board I hope for a vastly increased amount of information to be coming as possible.  To the people taking pot shots and putting negative crap on here - cut it out.  Just ruins the purpose of a forum that hopefully will become something far more useful for us to cultivate.  Who the hell is George Hebert and seeing several posts of his here and on another Automag forum,  Sour grapes are not helpful.  Thanks for reading.
