@packhawk from what I understand it has to do with the tolerances we hold. I personally don’t have a problem with operating it. I guess that is just because I deal with them all the time. Patrick will get on here tonight if not tomorrow and go into detail because he can explain it far better than I can.
Complaining about the ‘difficulty’ in running an Auto Mag is rather like complaining about its recoil. If you want a gun that’s easy to run and doesn’t kick, buy a Ruger .22.
Cocking the hammer first, holding the cocking piece stationary (Auto Mags don’t have slides BTW), and then pushing the pistol grip away from you makes it infinitely easier than trying to hold the pistol grip stationary and pull the cocking piece towards you. Humans have much more pushing strength than pulling strength.
Especially me, a human who has precious little of either! 😆
Wasn’t complaining, just curious. I’ve never even held an Automag before so I have no reference to go by.

This is how I have taught my wife and many other females who lack the upper body strength to cycle many smaller auto loaders .......seems to work every time. Everyone seems to want to grab the slide and pull it back and many fail. Actually, personally I do a little of both when it comes to the larger guns like AutoMags and Wildey’s.....directly across my chest which means I am actually pushing with both arms against each other.
I was asked why the new Auto Mags were so hard to cock when you first get them. I need to run it by our engineer on Friday. In the meantime we are trying to develop an aid to help with this process.
Have you shipped any pistols this month??
On what date did you order?
Why do you need to know?
Just wondering if I'm getting close. I ordered on 10-8-18 and it was a classic.
I think that everyone is just trying to get a “feel” for where they are on the list of receiving their Automag’s.
Ordered my classic on January 20, 2018 and have not received
I signed up Sept 2017.
Paid in full March 6, 2018. Not yet shipped, however assuming good news will come soon.
