I got the call today, my AutoMag has shipped! Thank you Rob!
We got 4 auto mags ready to go. However, only shipped 2 on Thursday because there we were some problems with the FFLs.
Finally received my Automag on January the 2nd and was very pleased with the gun and the finish I chose. Their have been several problems that have plagued me with my new gun. First the bolt is a beast to pull back and requires a good grip just to pull it back. I have a pair of shooting gloves ordered and hope this will help with such. The second issue that has arised is that my gun's bolt would not lock back on the magazine without pressing up on the bolt latch. Finally today I was able to fire my Automag only 8 times. The first three rounds were 21.5 grains loads which fired good, but my bolt would not lock back on the last round. After examining my gun for a good 40 minutes and reading the instructions again I forgot that my gun came with an extra magazine. I carefully examined both magazines and saw several differences. The first difference that was noticed was one magazine had no cut to reduce the stress on the weld the other one did. The second biggest thing I noticed was the the tab that pushes on the bolt latch where two totally different measurements. The other magazine that came with my gun did enage the bolt latch, but I have not fired the gun with the other magazine yet. Has anyone else encountered this problem of the bolt not locking on the last round. Hopefully when I try the other magazine that it will work. I have provided pictures of the magazine tab differences.
Here are more pictures of the magazine tab differences.

When shooting my son’s new Auto Mag I noticed it was much more difficult to retract the bolt than with either of my original guns. However, I found that pressing the muzzle against the bench and pushing on the back of the grip allowed the bolt to rotate and unlock, and then it was very easy to retract the bolt the rest of the way. Try it?
Just a quick update. To get barrels back faster I ran 900 lbs of barrel stock to our heat treater yesterday and I didn’t get back to the plant until 7:30pm. That is the reason that you didn’t talk to someone if you called. It was a good thing I did it yesterday too because we have a storm coming in that shutdown schools etc. So the front office people are working from home today and we will have very few in the back. The barrel stock should be a quick turnaround though.
Wow, that should make a few barrels. 😀 Thanks for the update Rob!
She still needs her dress grips and the presentation case. however, I am quite satisfied. As soon as the store re-opens I will order some more magazines and the cocking assist tool.
@dodge1957 I have an earlier Loris automag that was not engaging the bolt latch and it turned out to be the black hogue grip interfering with the latch mechanism. I removed a little material on the inside of the offending grip and that made a huge difference solving the problem. Check the inside of the grip for any marks in that area around the latch mechanism that would indicate rubbing. You could also just loosen the grip screws and see if it will lock back with an empty mag.
