When we first started production, the biggest constraint was assembly. We not only did not have the staff to constantly assemble Auto Mags, the assembly time was very long due to the time that is required to get all the parts to properly work together. On top of that because both COVID and the “gun boom market” many of our parts suppliers have had issues with quoted delivery times either due to larger demands from other customers and or raw material supply shortages.

We had 9 parts that were only provided by one outside vendor and as we found out several times that any interruption or delays due to quality issues would stop production. So, our strategy for ramping up production has been to create a secondary supply chain for the parts that we only had one vendor, with a preference to make those parts in house. This also has improved the consistency of the parts so they require less fit and finish time. We now have dies for all the stampings (Trigger bar, safety plate and hold open) and are making them in-house. One of the previous stoppages was due to bad trigger bars. We are also working on a solution to bring rifling in house as well.

Because of the additional parts that we are making in house we required additional machinery as well as additional staff. We needed a 5 axis EDM machine to cut the lugs in the barrel extension and we will have it installed at the plant next week.  We are also upgrading one of our 3 axis Mills to 4 axis and will get a multi-spindle lathe by next week.  It will take several weeks to program and tool them up but with these we will be able to make five of the other critical parts plus 3 stampings.

This is probably more a than what you want to hear, but before all these issues came up we had gotten up to a production rate of 20 per week. Once we get all these machines setup, we should not only get back to 20 per week we should be able to increase to somewhere near 30 per week and we will be able to give a much more reliable estimate of delivery.

Thank you for being transparent and keep up the great work. Many like me are cheering for bringing this product back to life and we are thankful for what you and the team have accomplished, and looking forward to more products, optional calibers and barrels too!

Keep it alive! We are with you!

^^^^^ What he said! Amen brother!  I think most people have no idea how difficult this undertaking really is. We should all be weeping with gratitude that there is a guy like Patrick crazy enough to take it on, and dedicated enough to see it through in the face of so many setbacks and so much adversity! Bless you, sir! 😇

I think it is great the Mr. Henry gives us production updates. I would be nice if every week or two, he gives us notice on the latest SN# produced. Most of us have been told what SN# ours is going to be, so we will know where we are at on the list. No more calling for status, for our completion dates, of our much awaited Automags.

I didn't realize Justin Opinion was going to do a second video on the Auto Mag and I wanted to share it.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsKY61BVGrY&t=131s

Thanks for this Rob. I am very pleased with the 180-D Classic and love the Justin Opinion reviews. Please share with Patrick, this is an Awesome handgun, and I am loading more ammo. Just need my magazine back to go back to the range. The staff in Loris should have received it a few of days ago. I may also buy a few more. They also have improved from the originals in my view, and I love the logo on them as well.

I wish the boss would post, and tell us what serial # they are at in production? The wait is much more tolerable, if we know where the light is at the end of the tunnel.

Just quick update for you guys. The move to in house production is progressing well. The machines are in place and are being tooled up as I am writing this. We also are working on the final stamping die right now. I will post pictures once I figure out how to upload all of them at once.
