@wcapps10363 The 6.5 inch, with the satin finish. I always loved the look of the original.

@pete-hoffert Just for curiosity, when was you order placed and what barrel length did you order?

@brian I placed my order in August, for a 6.5 in.

My impression is that the barrel is the long pole in the tent. People (including my son) have been waiting 3+ years I think for 8.5-inch classic models. I presume that if those people were impatient, they might be able to get a 6.5-inch gun right now?  True, or no?

Funny you should mention this.  I had wanted a 6.5 inch for a carry gun a while back, but held off because nothing was being produced for a while due to lack of parts and I already have 2 Founders Editions and an another 8.5 inch on back order for a year.  Figured there was no rush; but I can see if I had ordered it last spring when I planned I’d probably have it by now.  So as soon as I saw @pete-hoffert 6.5 inch I immediately pulled the trigger on the same brushed stainless version.  Maybe I’ll get it before my 8.5 inch

So I'm looking at the picture on the main page ( https://my.automag.com/) of Harry Callahan holding the Auto Mag, and it appears to me to be a 8.5" barrel version?

Yes…in Sudden Impact, he used an 8.5” barreled AutoMag - which is why I ordered mine that way.
I’ll just wait if there are still delays.

But I remember reading somewhere that Patrick said that they had new CNC machines in house now to produce their own barrels (I think anyway)… not sure where they are with shipping 8.5” barreled pistols but like I said,I’m fine with waiting.

That's good then, I know I already have the Model 29's covered in every barrel size...

Must have been a problem with the 8.5 barrels they were going to get in last month or they didn't show up at all. I can't imagine how frustrating it would be to have all these orders and not be able to ship anything.

FYI - I just rec'd an email from the "updates@automag.com" email address with an update on my order. As I suspected, they are still experiencing supply chain issues in sourcing the 8.5" barrels & are expecting shipments to be rec'd in Feb '22 (and then completed orders going out a short time after). The email was signed by Patrick Henry. It was nice to get the heads up/order update & again this is as I suspected & have no problem waiting. Just letting everyone know (who may have orders out there for the 8.5" barrel pistols).

I received the same email concerning my order and appreciate Patrick's message.  The Raven is gorgeous! I liked it so much I sent a P.O. over to accounting.......  She wouldn't sign it. 😒 The whole Christmas thing.  You know, if AM were to drop the presentation case and offered jewelry with new purchases we could probably get somewhere with this..... Think about it fellow's, Win-Win

Have a great Thanks Giving!
