"Those will be ready this Friday and we will start assembling guns next week. We have a standing order for 40 frames castings every two week. The next frames should be here by the end of next week. We will start milling the ones that are here after we start the next batch of magazines which should be Wednesday or Thursday."

😍  I won't say that I'm about to pee my pants in excitement on reading that... (but it was a close thing!) 😆

Patrick,

Are you suggesting that due to incipient frame ring failure the total lifespan of the gun will be less than 10k rounds? What then? The frame is scrap? Or am I misunderstanding what you said above?

The news is exciting no matter what!

@phenry3

Is it possible the frame ring was bent when the out of battery discharged occurred ???  Other photos of Auto-Mags that fired out of battery seem to cause severe damage to the frame ring when this happens.  I'm sure this and many other questions will be answered when testing concludes and a final report is written.

Thanks,

Wayne

Patrick, thank you so much for the investment and work you and the team are putting into making this gun better than ever, reliable, safe, and a true collector piece. It takes dedication to do what you are doing, and I appreciate that. I am also looking forward to the offerings that are coming next year as well. Sounds exciting, and as we spoke about them, I am very encouraged for future purchase of offerings. Thank you for your leadership, and pass on the thanks.

Paul

It’s taken much longer and was much harder than I ever imagined but I could not be happier with where we are and what I think will be happening over the next year. The real credit goes to the team that has become Auto Mag. I was already like a proud father and yet lately almost every week they do something else that I did not think could be done.

I also want to thank all the customers who have been incredibly supportive and patient. They have giving me a real education on what is important to the Auto Mag buyer. I have really enjoyed getting to know them.

With Thanksgiving coming up I always have so much to be grateful for but this year may be the best yet.

My thanks to everyone involved.

Take care,

Patrick

Patrick,

I hesitate to ask but I'm curious - do you know yet which serial-numbers go to whom?

I'm not wanting any specific number myself, just really curious what I'll be getting. If you can't answer, no worries.

Is it safe to assume that once production ramps up, you will be aiming to make 80 guns per month? Until now the availability of good frame castings has been said to be the long pole in the tent. If the supplier delivers his promised 40 frame castings every two weeks, is the rest of the production process capable of absorbing that quantity? Or is there some other bottleneck (say, CNC milling the frames for instance) that would reduce output below that number?

Assuming something less than 100 Founders Edition guns need to be produced and shipped, which could potentially be made in November and December, that sounds like Classic Editions could start shipping as soon as January?

if this assumption is incorrect, can you give an accurate projected production timeline?

Since the AutoMags are beginning to be released will there be any accessories, specifically holsters, being marketed as well.

Once upon a time, Safariland made what many consider to be the definitive hip holster, shoulder holster and magazine pouch for the 6.5-inch barrel Auto Mag. I believe the part numbers were 102, 103 and 104. While they have been out of production for decades perhaps they could be convinced to bring them back?

The 8.5-inch barrel would mandate use of a shoulder holster. No way to pack that behemoth on the hip!

The Safariland 103 gave me the idea that I could make my own hip-holster, so I gave it a go for my 6.5" TDE. Not sure I want to make one for the 8.5" 😉
