I am still waiting on my Automag, but I was able to procure a set of dies, and have been converting rifle brass into usable cases. I have about 200 rounds loaded, and am just waiting for my pistol to arrive. Rob called me about a week ago to let me know that my pistol was about to begin manufacture, so I hope to be testing it out in a few weeks.
Why buy a handgun that has no ammo available to purchase and no dies being manufactured other than people selling old set of dies for over $1,000 on EBay??
Not sure about EBay (I haven’t looked) but I just purchased an old set (but completely unused as far as I can tell) of RCBS dies for $166 bucks less than 2 weeks ago. There are folks out there still willing to sell them for a decent/fair price and a lot of them are on this forum (where I found mine).
@bartwatkins you got a great deal but I am afraid the words out that Automag dies can be sold for over $1,000 on EBay as seen by a current auction
if you know of another set of rcbs dies please let me know since I have a new Automag pistol, brass and bullets but no dies😰

Here you go:
I'm a little embarrassed.
I put a 4-die RCBS set on eBay around 5 pm on the 18th, expecting maybe $200 or so; I was shocked when I saw Pantera Mike's message on the other board just before midnight on the 19th, saying another set on EBay was already at $406.
On Thanksgiving day, my set sold for a whopping $1,560! I sure hope they're worth it to the buyer - instead of sending via USPS as originally planned/quoted, the least I could do was spend the $50 and upgrade his shipping to UPS Next Day AirSaver.
No gouging was intended on my part at all and of course I didn't force anyone to bid, but still.... my cheeks are a little red at the astronomical figure someone paid.
I might have to look, think I got more than one set of the RCBS dies.
I called up Rob today and suggested that AM request of RCBS that they ignore the lack of tungsten carbide for now and just make a batch of steel dies again. Any leftover sizing-die bodies should be easy to mill out anyway at a later stage for carbide inserts once that becomes available.
Rob said he'll pass the suggestion along to Patrick.
@pantera-mike I actually just received my new auto mag two weeks ago but no ammo and no dies so what a waste of $3800!
Softsounds - Send me an email, I might be able to help you out.

@kyle-cwach be wonderful if you had a extra set but with the way they are selling on EBay I doubt I can afford the set if you have a extra set
I would be interested in a set of case forming dies, if the price is right.
Maybe just buy some Starline brass instead? I know they are backordered but here is some for sale on Gunbroker. This should hold you over until Starline gets ramped up again?
I will have to look. I know that I have a couple of the case forming die sets, but they dont have the reamer. Which is pretty important. Cant quite remember if I have an extra set with the reamer or not.
@pantera-mike Thanks for the info Mike, but the stuff on gunbroker is already way over priced. Before I pay that kind of inflated price, I will stick with what I am doing now, which is using a lathe, and a .429 reamer.

I see there is a set on Ebay this morning. I do not know what a good price would be anymore.
