When did you order your 6 inch gun
All:
Received a response from Starline Brass on .44 Automag brass. Apparently we are a noisy bunch and have been hearing from quite a few of us on securing brass for those of us with or waiting for our new toys.
Starline did not provide any dates on availability, but they are acknowledging that they have a fair number of back-orders placed and have requested a little more patience. The tone was sincere and in my case, I am also waiting for the RCBS dies as well.
I have been waiting since Dec 2020, for my 8.5" high polish. I had been informed that my # is in the 140's. I hope my # is coming up soon. Can't wait! I got dies and cases on standby.
@gbertolet would you maybe know are orders being filled in the same order they were received (ascending by serial number) ?
my s/n is 210.
I do know that some of the purchasers of the 6.5" barrel models are being fulfilled in ascending order, as long as the barrels and bolts for these models hold out. Where the remaining order for the 8.5" barrel models on the list, with the fulfilled 6.5 barrel models removed, is unknown. Could be a little, or still a lot to go yet.
I ordered my 8.5" high polish CE in March of 2021.
Just my opinion but it would be nice to actually see the owner or someone from his team respond to the numerous questions and concerns we all have regarding the 8.5” pistol and Raven availability.
For weeks I have read messages on this forum regarding wait times, part availability, etc. and not once have I seen Patrick or Rob or anyone address our concerns, why is that??
I called and spoke to Rob over three weeks ago regarding the Raven and was told that there was a parts issue. When I ordered the Raven back in November, 2021 I had the impression that all components were available and it was a simple matter of assembling all the components and around 60 days from that time the pistols would be shipping. Where is has been 84 days since I order the Raven and sent in my $3895 and still no pistol🤔
Does everyone on this forum have to call Auto Mag to get a honest response from this company? Needless to say Auto Mag needs to do a much better job at communicating with their customers or their customer base will slowly go elsewhere!
Thanx for the response Rob!
For some of my Automag loving colleagues out there, when I ordered my polished 8.5 inch in April of 2020 Patrick and the crew were still putting the factory floor together.
Reading about the many engineering and design changes from then to now I think we will be well rewarded for our patience. Hang in there guys! We will soon be members of a very exclusive club. And yes, I’m still eagerly waiting too.
We are continuing to move more operations in house. First, we have ordered three more production mills, one of which is already installed. The second should be here in 4 week and the third in seven weeks. Second, we are upgrading our tool and die shop by adding two CNC mills to replace the two manual mills and one CNC lathe to replace the manual lathe and we are replacing the manual surface grinder with an automatic surface grinder. Lastly, we have hired two new machinist and they will be starting on March 7th
202 8.5 inch barrels blanks are back from heat treat and the OD turning is now complete. The milling of these barrels into upper has started and the first 20 should be complete next Tuesday. The first group of 8.5 guns should be complete in 5 weeks. All this equipment will take time to tool and program and should be coming online in the next couple of months. Once it is all complete, we will able to produce 150 per month.
On the Ravens the ion bond process should be complete next week and guns should begin being assembly shortly after.
Patrick, thank you for the update. You have invested a fortune in all of this equipment and personnel and I thank you for doing this!!
