All their photos on the website pretty well showed it to be bead blasted so I would not think there is much to complain about.

Their 8 1/2" barrels are also actually 9 1/16" which I havent figured out yet either.  No harm done I guess.  🤔

I never saw a picture before I ordered it; I guess thats my fault.  I assumed “brushed stainless” would be the brushed stainless found throughout the firearms industry

Just a question on the presentation case and the magazine cutouts. They are different than the cutouts in the Founders Edition cases and the mags don’t actually fit the cutouts.  The upper left corner is cut on a diagonal as if the follower wasn’t taken into consideration…..or is there a trick to this?  The Founders Editions cases a squared off in the corner of the mag cutout to accept the follower.

The magazine cutouts in my Founders case are the same as yours.

Mag cutouts of the Founders case vs the 6.5 inch case. Mags don’t actually fit in the cutouts of the 6.5 inch case due to the follower

Actually, when I go under the order section where I ordered the 6.5 inch brushed stainless, they show a 6.5 inch High Standard Brushed Stainless for reference.  I don’t see a bead blasted version which is where I looked at pictures to place my order.

I don't know what to say.  You appeared happy with the pistol before I asked.  I guess I have never looked at their order page, it shows all kinds of  AMP's on it.

The only reason I was looking into it is I have a Raven paid for and it sounds like maybe they were going to offer some type of substitution if they can't get the coating figured out.

@bob-cohee there is nothing for you to say.  Was I happy with it when I first received it?  Yes, about 80% positive. I really wasn’t wild about the finish but figured it was MY fault for not checking into things further.  I’d rather own my mistake than be a whiner and that’s why I didn’t mention the issue at first.  But after you asked, it made me look at things closer since I wasn’t the only one that didn’t like this particular finish. I guess I should thank you for mentioning the finish because I probably would have never looked into it any further; it is what it is.  I couldn’t figure out how I overlooked such an obvious finish discrepancy. I build guns and even do my own bead blasting.  So when you said there were pictures I again asked myself how could I have missed this? I was completely prepared to own my mistake if I overlooked something. So when I went back into the ordering section to revisit how I purchased the gun, the High Standard Brushed Stainless photo came up to show the finish I was buying. So in my book I didn’t overlook or miss anything; I went by the photo.  There probably is nothing that can be done about it now, but  Rob may want to put a more accurate picture on the website so buyers will see the actual gun they are ordering. It still is a beautiful gun but would have preferred it be the brushed stainless I thought I ordered.  Not a huge deal just since it will be my shooter AMP, just a little disappointing; it’s a cosmetic preference

That is still not a "brushed finish" as far as I am concerned.

None of these can really be described as 'brushed'. More like a satin stainless.

Hey Guys, I am not a finish expert, but I can tell you that the brushed satin gun is definitely not bead blasted. We have bead blasted a test gun before and it is not that finish. As far as I am aware the brush satin finish has not been changed in any way since we have started production and we have the same polisher. I will say that I was not aware that a picture of an original Auto mag was still on the site and I will get that off the site as soon as possible.

Received an email update today from Mr. Henry, things are moving right along, you can really tell the level of quality and the improvements with stronger parts machined from billet stainless steel vs cast. The one piece machining on the barrels and barrel extensions simply blows me away !

Thank You Patrick. I sincerely appreciate you and the AutoMag teams hard work and dedication to perfection!

I already bought my .44AMP RCBS die set. STARLINE brass was awesome in filling my order for 44AMP brass, received my order in just under 3 business days from the time I placed it.  I just need to acquire primers bullets and powder and it’s reload time, very therapeutic I must say….👍🏻

This is gonna be awesome 😎 !

Me too. I just wish the rest of us could see what you received. I’ve been subscribed to the AM newsletter for 4+ years but haven’t received anything for 2+ years. And there is nothing published on either website.

What is the point of creating information updates for customers and potential customers, and then keeping them a secret from all but a few?  Even the people who have subscribed and asked to be kept informed, aren’t?

Very odd manner of marketing….

Ok…so yep I’m not savvy with this computer stuff, while I sorta can do what I need to get done…that’s all that matters to me. I don’t know what a .emz file is, but it does look like five images were attached and I can see four. Will cut and paste here, hope it works.
