Hmm... nothing here. 🤔

I must have fallen off of the list.

@beltfeded here is the email:

From: Automag Updates <updates@automag.com>Sent: Thursday, May 12, 2022 3:18 PMTo: bartwatkins@msn.com <bartwatkins@msn.com>Subject: Auto Mag Update - May 2022

Dear Customer,

Great News:  WE ARE SHIPPING AUTO MAG® PISTOLS TO OUR CUSTOMERS!  In the past 30 days we have shipped 25 Auto Mags! I you are waiting for your Auto Mag®, we appreciate your patience and loyalty and will be forwarding the updated position of your progress on the wait list.

More Good News, we have taken steps to significantly increase our production capabilities. By the addition of five new machines, three to our tool and die shop, and two more to our production line we have enhanced our ability to manufacture many parts that were previously outsourced. We are now producing barrels, barrel extensions, accelerator blocks and hammers in-house.  We are in the process of adding the accelerator, sear, cocking piece and bolt to our in-house production. Auto Mag is also expanding our production team by adding additional assemblers, machinists, and support personnel.

These past 2 years have brought the challenges of the Covid shut down, on-going supply chain issues and raw material shortages for our critical parts (e.g., Rifled Barrels, Bolts, Barrel Extensions). To address these issues, we are making more parts in-house or placing orders with secondary vendors. In addition, we have placed blanket purchase agreements (BPAs) for over three thousand (3,000) parts.  We believe these actions will eliminate production stoppages and help ensure a steady production of Auto Mag® Pistols.

In addition to better control over our supply chain, these changes have given us another benefit. Most of these parts were made from cast and the inconsistent cast tolerances caused these parts to have to be individually fitted to the gun. Additionally, cast parts do not have the strength/life cycle as parts made from billet. By moving to billet we increase the lifespan and quality of the guns we are making.

We are shipping ~10 guns per week to our customers. Guns are being manufactured in the order of order receipt --AND—on-hand parts availability (i.e., we had 6.5" barrels ready, so we shipped those). Finally, before we start manufacturer of your Auto Mag®, we must confirm that your FFL is still valid. If we cannot reach you, we move on to the next customer on the list until we can confirm your FFL.

One final note, Auto Mag has done its best to maintain loyalty to its customers, especially in the realm of maintaining our price points.  We have not increased our prices in the past 5 years.

However, over the past 12 months, we have spent a tremendous amount of money on building a new production line.  Additionally, the cost of parts in raw materials has risen dramatically as well as the additional production costs to make parts from billet vs cast.  This is forcing us to increase the price of Auto Mag® pistols. We plan to hold the current prices until after the upcoming 2022 NRA show (May 27th. - May 29th).  We wanted you to be the first to know of this price increase if you wish to make an additional purchase, or you have a friend to refer.  If you have been planning to purchase an additional Auto Mag® now would be the time to place your order.  Give our Customer Support team a call at: 843-756-0362 or visit our website  https://store.automag.com

Thank you so much for your support and faith in us. If it were not for people like you, we would not be here.

Patrick Henry

Curious to know what order dates for 8.5" are currently shipping.

I just placed my order so I figure that I am a ways out anyway. 😏

Bought the 44 Auto Mag High Polish back in December’21.  Never fired and decided I will never shoot the pistol and decided to sell it.

Feel free to contact me and I can answer any questions you might have and send any photos you require.

That’s a nice hard case. Are the Classic guns shipping with that case, or the wooden box the Founder’s Editions came in? Or is it the customer’s choice?

To my understanding, the new orders ship in the plastic case with 2 mags.  I had to order the wooden presentation case as an extra line item.

Hopefully one of the many improvements made was to select a foam that will not destroy the finish on the guns the way the foam in the original cases did to the original guns? I wonder how you can test for that? I’m sure the original AM folks never intended for that problem to occur and never thought to check for it?

My "Raven" came in the plastic case also.  It is an open cell foam and I personally would not store my AMP in it.  The DLC coating would probably protect it but I'm not taking any chances.

@john-d-owens my number is CE98 so I am routing for ya!  Soon.

Tim,

Mine (CE-88) came in Thursday while I was on vacation - I picked it up today.  I'm glad I have big hands!

Found out the magazines are tough to load, I thought my old style magazine loader would work but the new magazines are different!  Best I could do was load 5 rounds per magazine.  I'm ordering the new tool today!

John -

Congrats on the new toy.  When did you place your order?

I have small hands so I'm hoping that won't be an issue. 😉
