So is this real or a practical joke?

The message was apparently emailed to all current (waiting) customers by Auto Mag themselves, so one has to assume they aren’t kidding?

I did not receive such an email, and I have been on their mailing list since they started…

Well, I didn’t receive it either, and like you I am *supposed* to be on their mailing list. But their list management leaves a lot to be desired and I haven’t received anything from them in a very long time.  My son gets everything from them however.

Communication management has never been their strong suit…🙄

True. So no web site update, no forum update, emails are hit or miss... sigh.

@pantera-mike hey Mike, where was this information about AutoMag closing up shop and moving to Connecticut posted at? This sounds ridiculous unless maybe it’s somehow better from a manufacturing standpoint or the company is in financial trouble. Yeah it’s been quite a journey Resurrecting the .44 AMP and I’m sure Patrick would agree, but to have this come up basically out of nowhere, that’s not good.

This update wasn’t “posted” on a forum (like this one). Instead, they emailed it directly to their pending customers.

It seems odd to me that Patricks name is nowhere to be found in the “press release”, who is Michael Bush, exactly?

Good question—I don’t know. My son received it directly from Auto Mag today. He was among the first people who paid in full for a Classic Edition, in Feb 2018!  The originally promised delivery date was summer 2018 but we all know how that went.  Then apparently they lost his order and forgot about him and gave guns to a bunch of other people who signed up years after him. It’s a big ‘whoops’ and now the latest promise from them was the end of this month. Are there other pending buyers who did not receive this note? Maybe it only went to those whose latest promised date was in the next few months? I don’t know….

I guess this is the AutoMag curse coming back. I never received an email about what is going on at AutoMag. I was number 35 on October's list. I'm wondering for all the customers that are waiting on their AutoMags if the Lori's SC will be engraved on the slide or if it will be the new Connecticut location.

It would be nice to at least see an updated list on where people are at on their order. Being number 35 I thought I would have mine before Christmas but their goes my Christmas wish. 😔

I also received the Email, however it was in my junk folder.  I have followed the progress for a couple years before ordering a few months ago and was told they are running about 6-8 months for production until they sent the link that they were more than 2 years out and were a very small organization.  Was told the 2 problems they were having was getting certain parts and only 1 gunsmith actually putting them together, so one would have to ask what is really going on? There are alot of manufacturers in Connecticut so did they get bought out or partner with one of them if this email is true... I look at the finish date in email and with all existing orders filled by end of Feb 2023, did he mean 2024?  That is 300 orders in the next couple months so if this were true then the only way I can see the ramp up of production is to be partnered with another manufacturer.  Has anyone received theirs on top of the list in the last few weeks?  Curious.... I am not giving up as this is something I really want to add to the collection for sure!

Just got the email. Not marked as spam. Definitely not happy about this, on the most recent version of the wait list I was #40…

I rec'd the email as well - yesterday. The last update that was sent out (I guess sometime around the end of November) I was like number 121 or 125 or something like that.

I find it hard to believe also that all the orders on that list will be completed and shipped by the end of Feb '23 (and also wonder if that was some sort of typo and they meant '24) but who knows?
