The case is pretty sweet, hopefully I’ll get an opportunity to order a third magazine and loading tool. I’m also thinking a new updated presentation case and challenge coin. This is getting fun!

Back to the holster question.  I might contact this fella and see if he could make me a left-handed one. I have a left handed safari 101, but a new one sure would be nice. Laugh if you will but no one will as loud as Tim Bell did when I fired a prototype left-handed ...

I had a local leather smith make up a few holsters from sting ray skin.  If there is interest I can have a few more made for sale.  These are an exotic and the ray skin is near indestructible!  Have two position belt loop (high or low on the hip). Price would be $350.00 if interest.  If there was a group buy of 5+ price could come down to $295.00 each.

Has full retention with a 6.5" barreled gun.

As most of you know by now we are shipping. We are shipping guns every week but for several reasons we are not shipping as many as I would like. So far the same machinists that produce the parts are the ones that are doing the assembly. We also had several people out because of Covid. None of our staff has been sick but because of roommates/spouses got sick several have had to stay out because they had to quarantine.

We are in the process of hiring three people to be dedicated assemblers. All three are law enforcement armorers. They have been in training since last week and should be assembling guns by next week.

We are also moving more and more of the production in-house. We are still going to keep our current vendors for critical parts so we will always have two sources for parts incase either one fails or demand is so much that we can't keep up with only one source.

I have had a ball taking calls from people that have waited patiently for years to get their Auto Mag. I assure you it is worth the wait.

Patrick

5,000 rd test

We learned a lot from the 5,000 test but several of the changes we made were to increase the pin diameter of the hold open pin because they were breaking at the point where the pin diameter was stepped down to insert into the trigger bar.(see photo below)

Also we has several extractors break and found that they were striking against the barrel so we made a relief cut that solved that issue.

Nice! These are definitely going to be worth the wait - I appreciate the fixes.

@phenry3 Have you started making the Classic pistols yet? What serial number did you start with?

@rodney-fox We have started on the Classics because a some of the Founders customers decided to switch to a classic to get all of our latest features. The serial number on the classics started with CE-01. We are still going in order of purchase.

Our polishers are amazing at what they do. This finish option for our loading tool will probably be in the store in a week or two. It will probably have a 2-4 week lead time. Just wanted to share it with you guys.

Looking at the tool, I confess I can’t figure out how it works. Would be good to see a YouTube video of it in action to see if it warrants replacing the old-school Jurras-style tool?

Looks like the tool is placed on top of an empty magazine. A cartridge is slipped into the tool. Then the tool is pushed downward with a stainless pusher (part of the machined tool above the cartridge) pushing it into the magazine.

What features does a classic have that the FE edition will not?
