I've been getting the same thing for the last few weeks. Considering the circumstances, I imagine the last thing on the owners minds is updating the list. I do wish they would publish an update on their own website...
Yeah, some kind of update would be nice, the lack of response is less than reassuring. The Angled Spade site is another dead end, just says " coming soon" .
I'm torn between hanging on a while longer or asking for a full refund and trying again when they get things back up and running. I know I'm probably in the top 10 on the wait list though, and I hate to lose my place in line...
Can't get anywhere with the website for Stryke either. I know the holidays would've slowed down any transition, but I kinda think there should have been some activities on the websites by now. Has anyone seen anything on shipping yet?
Hello gentlemen, I have not been allowed to respond via email, phone, or the forum until now and for a time my employment with Auto Mag was scheduled to come to an end on December 31st. However, things have changed and a few of us will still be working in Loris to do repairs and customer service. I do not currently know the status of production other than they are setting up in Connecticut as hard as the can. I will probably know more this week and will try and update you if I can.
Thanks for the update, Rob. At this point, is it even possible to speak on the phone with somebody at Auto Mag, or has the company (hopefully temporarily) vaporized completely, with the notion that it will reappear in some other location at some future date?
And where does Patrick fit into all of this? It’s distressing that he hasn’t made an appearance in many months and now this other entity claiming to speak for him suddenly appears with this radical announcement, which is almost completely devoid of actual information?
I think I can speak for everyone when I say that we appreciate all your efforts thus far, so this should not be misconstrued as criticism of you in any way. We are just glad to hear from you when we do!
@jfleisher I would say hang in if you can, it's worth the wait when you get one in your hands. And, like you said, getting out of the line might be a big mistake. Hopefully we will see something soon, thank you,Rob, we were all wondering what was happening. Hang in there.
Thank you Rob for getting on the forum and providing us with some information. Your presence on this forum has been missed and we are all very concerned and curious about what is going on with Auto Mag.
So this is what I found in my research to try and understand things.... Michael Bush was the name on the Email we all got, I found thru Linked-in that he is a partner/Design engineer for Angled Spade, says he is in Somers, Connecticut. He is there with a Rob Jackson who is an engineer but also says that he also works for Polymer 80 Inc. I did a business search for Polymer 80 Inc and they are registered business in Connecticut.
So back in September 2022 Auto Mag was taken to court by Lending HQ and case was closed in December, can't find details exactly......... any ideas?
So, just a few hypotheticals. If the Angled Spade turns out to be actually taking over production, I wonder if they would be making 180-ds, or would they change things up and make another version? If a guy wanted to have a .357 AMP on a Loris frame, would it require an old bolt as well as an old upper? Would the old upper even fit the new frame? Hopefully we'll see some news soon and find out that new guns and accessories are on the way. Time will tell,
@dodgeramcharger while that would be great news, it’s more realistic to at least hope those still on the waiting list receive the gun they are expecting/owed with the same or better quality the rest of us have received. I haven’t shot mine yet, until I hear more as to what exactly is going on, I may not.
@midauto can you maybe post a copy of the email you received? It’s strange that most received this email while others did not. That in and of itself is wrong. Thanks.
@midauto it’s highly concerning as to just why AutoMag was taken to court, and exactly over what which now is unknown, and could that outcome be the reason for the relocation? Time will tell and at the very least AutoMag SHOULD remain upfront and tell its customers what is actually going on. I understand the need for say confidentiality circumstances depending, maybe court ordered and yes they are under no obligation to reveal ALL details, it’s just good business practice to remain loyal to your customer base, especially when plunking down 4k for a iconic piece of firearm history that’s been much improved (at least that’s my opinion). Could there maybe have been a patent or intellectual property infringement that led to this lawsuit? Personal injury? Your guess is as good as mine. I honestly hope they don’t just make the remaining guns on order and call it quits. That would be unfortunate and a loss to the firearms community.
@midauto Forgot to ask, who exactly is Lending HQ?
@blatz62 Lending HQ is located in South Carolina, I found the case searching South Carolina courts online, timeline seems to follow about when they quit updating the wait list and when the email came out...my fear of the reality is that they can take the money and run, or it is all spent and there is none. So, who would buy a company that has 300 orders with no money to go with them? The reason I started digging into this little more is because none of this makes any sense from a business aspect and that we are even going to get either a fulfilled order or a refund if one would want one.
I agree as well that they would not say much but nothing is pretty alarming, the response from Rob dose not really settle the nerves either....I hope they have not still selling to people all along still and promising the 180 build time and now there are more waiting?
