I was fascinated with the holster and magazine pouch featured in the video. A bit of sleuthing led me to this:

I'd like to see the crossdraw holster pictured somewhere.

Guess I shouldve poked around a bit first 😀

@bb Regarding the video https://share.icloud.com/photos/06f28RANSuPCe4cdigAwhHRog ... the reviewer describes the Automag as "It's CHROME and wood... a beautiful gun"?  Chrome?  Really?!

Sorry... someone didn't do their homework.

Question…

Would it function safely putting the 8.5 inch stainless barrel onto the lower of the Raven? Or the reverse for the lower of the 8.5 inch stainless and the Raven barrel?

Hello all, I love to read all you updates and have never left a reply. I ordered my Automag in 2018 and waited a long time, patiently. Yes there were times I was a bit worried, and my wife added to my angst at time. I spoke with Mr. Henry one time and after the conversation I believed in him and his company. I even sent additional funds to upgrade my finish. One day I got the glorious news that it was in its way, and let me tell you all it was definitely worth the wait. Sorry to say that I haven’t shot it yet, but like Lone Watie once said in The Outlaw Josey Wales, “It’s not for eating, it’s for looking through.” (Best movie ever) Hang in there, these are the things we live, and work for.

I have to agree - I too had ordered early (Jan 4 2018) and waited.... I think it was 35 months. At one point I got so anxious I bought a 6.5" Auto Mag El Monte just to have something to shoot (may have to put that one up for sale sometime) - but it ended fine for me and I'm delighted with the new pistol.

While I can understand that not knowing where one is on "the list" can cause anxiety, I've spoken any number of times with Patrick and Rob and they've always been very helpful, honest and gracious.

They might work or they might not.

Barrels can be put on other frames but sometimes some fitting is required.  The dovetail on the barrel needs to fit into the frame with some clearance but not sloppy.  The barrel extension needs to fit over the ring on the frame the same way, some clearance, but not sloppy.

When swapping barrels on the same frame, if things are tight, you can fit them with some careful filing or stoning.  I the fit is sloppy, that takes a professional to tighten things up.

Once the barrel is fitted, you must check that the bolt is going into battery every time and check for proper headspace for the ammo you are using.

In your case where the barrels are already matched to another frame, you do not want to mess with any fitting.

Just try and see how they fit, many times they work fine.  Good luck.

If you own both guns I would resist the urge to swap uppers and lowers back and forth. These aren’t Glocks. Despite advances in manufacturing capabilities, there is a higher-than-normal degree of hand fitting still required (from what we have been told). If you already own one gun, and are contemplating purchasing a new upper to fit that lower, I would suggest sending the lower back with instructions to have the upper fitted to it with no modifications to the lower.

I was lucky in that I bought an original 44 Auto Mag, and a 357 barrel from the same seller (estate sale) and they both work perfectly. Evidently back in the day, the original owner had them set up to all play nicely together. But I wouldn’t necessarily assume that any random barrel would work with any random lower (although period advertising explicitly promised this).

Since both barrels are the same caliber, swapping them does not make much sense.

I have had dozens of extra barrels and the vast majority fit the frames fine.

Both Brian Maynard and Mark Miller have told me they have experienced difficulty swapping barrels to North Hollywood frames.  I experienced this with a Maynard built barrel on a N Hollywood frame.

I have four extra barrels made at Excel by The New Auto Mag Company and all but one fit on my Founder's Edition Frames with no fitting.  The one just required a bit of minor stoning at the dovetail.

Just wanted to let you guys know we are cutting on cocking pieces. We should have 120 done in about 2 weeks. We will still need to polish them after that. Once they are polished they should be ready to go on guns
