@mech57 SWEET!!!

Also, how does that magazine loader assist tool work? Is is really necessary? I was just wondering because they are somewhat expensive (are the magazines that difficult to load by hand?)

My new "Raven" got to my Dealer on Tuesday but I was unable to pick it up until this morning.  It looks good and is a very nice AMP.

Flat Black is not my favorite finish for guns, but I'm happy with it.

Here is a group shot.

These are all made by the New Auto Mag Co.  There are two Founder's Editions, the Raven, and four extra barrels.

The extra barrels were made by Auto Mag Ltd. while working at Excel in California with Larry Grossman.  There are two 6 1/2" High Polish 44 AMP Classics, a !0 1/2" High Polish Barrel chambered for 45 Win Mag, and a 10 1/2" High Polish Barrel chambered for 44 AMP.

Is there any special cleaning care for the black finish?  So that it isn’t damaged.

I have been told that the coating is DLC (Diamond Like Carbon).  DLC coatings are very hard and abrasion resistant but are extremely thin.  They are very wear resistant but they can be scratched.  If scratched, the stainless will show through.

The finish also has many micro-pores so it needs to be sprayed or wiped down with oil to protect it from corrosion.  Actually, care for it just like any other pistol material.

Sorry for the crappy photos, it was raining here yesterday and there is nowhere in my house with good lighting.  I will try some outside sometime.

@bob-cohee

Thanks Bob for the pictures and info. Please let us know what you think of it when your shoot it, if that is your plan for the Raven.  It is a beautiful gun.

I'm going to get it out in the sunshine today and look it over.  I would have prefered a more shiny finish to tell the truth.  Patrick said they ran a "straw poll" and most buyer prefered the matte finish.

Here is a Sig P210 Super Target I own and it has the high polish DLC coating, I really like the looks of it.

@bob-cohee The grips look great against the dark frame and barrel. Nice!

I took the Raven outside to look it over close and the coating is very even, no color differences, and no blemishes.  They did a very good job on the coating, at least to my untrained eyes.  The gun as a whole looks very nice and well constructed, I'm pleased with everything.

Here are a couple more pics.
