I did get the front sight tightened again… 😊 a little more oomph with a fresh .050 hex bit did the trick as I was ever nervous about a snapped bit outcome. No rattles. I also re-tightened the operating rods. Bringing back memories of how to keep it running smoothly.
Hello out there my first post. I just found out about the new AutoMag and couldn't be happier about it. I had to make my 44amp out of 308win cases at the time quite a process but the only way to get them at the time. Shot many bowling pin matches with it. I will be ordering an 8 1/2 inch barrel gun so I can have an updated version. Can't wait.
helidriver, last report from him was he is still waiting, been 2years according to him
Highly recommend that you develop and manufacture a red dot optic mount/adapter plate for various optics and a front fiber optic sight or night sight for the Automag ASAP
That would be a handy update to the Auto Mag these days with so many new optics available.
@softsounds …like the thought of barrels that could be purchased, or with a dual purpose ramp that was shown at the shot show several years ago by Larry.
I have asked about being able to purchase barrels when available. Also to include .357 AMP caliber.
I have a small suggestion for the instruction manual due to the Demotion Ranch fiasco:
Many buyers won't be aware of making sure the recoil-rods are tight - so move that info from its rather innocuous page 19 position and put it in the front of the manual, highlighted and bold with a big red rectangle around it so it can't be missed.
Is there a specific tool used not to damage or gouge the rods?
Reintroduce the Baby Automag in 22LR! Another classic looking pistol that would be a hit.
@koeninger1 I know they have a prototype of a .22 conversion kit done, but I don't know when that might become available.
@david-bailey Thanks David, I was aware of the 22LR conversion kit project. I'll order one when available.
I was suggesting a new gun offering that cloned the actual AMT Baby Automag that was based on the Ruger Mark I design.
These are rare, look cool, and I think would be a hit with Automag fans.
Cheers,
@koeninger1 not a bad idea either. I'm one of the lucky ones who has an original Baby Automag. My only complaint with it is that it is not the easiest gun to break down and clean. Unlike the 44 auto mag which is the easiest gun I own to break down and clean.
@david-bailey True, I have help several Ruger owners reassemble their pistols after cleaning.
I would be happy to relieve you of that Baby Automag and endure the troublesome of maintenance!
@koeninger1 LOL. I'm proud to own it, but I had to give an arm and a leg for it a few years back on GB.
