@mattbachinski please PM me. I have a group of guys in the situation and we finally got through and making some progress on the Wildey. I will not go into details here however if you do contact me I can put you on the mailing list and give you some numbers to call.

@ Timothy-evans I can’t figure out how to PM you but I would greatly appreciate your help with information on Wildey.  No response from them in well over a year and before that it was always sketchy.  Greatly appreciate any information on what’s going on, I’m out a gun.  Lmfree@ptd.net  or work # 610-791-3917.     Thanks!

I just received the "e-mail"  and I had my FFL put my name on the form but read here that it needs an order number. I can't seem to get into the site where it show's the order details. Anybody know how to find the order number?

Thanks.

Hi everybody new here,

Of all the big boar magnum handguns the Auto Mag is my favorite.  For all you waiting to get your first Auto Mag to shoot I can understand your desire.  Because shooting the Auto Mag is a great experience.  I enjoy shooting my Auto Mags (the old ones, two 180's, and the 160) over shooting my Desert Eagles and Wildey.   I am really looking forward to getting a couple of new model 160's to shoot so I can semi-retire my originals.

Regards,

dsr

I'm in the same boat.  My original TDE 180 ia in Arizona getting evaluated by a noted expert, along with the Coonan Classic I purchased to satisfy my *BOOM* needs without putting wear on an irreplaceable pistol.  Yeah, that really worked out well. 🙁  For now, shooting my RIA .22TCM keeps me happy.

Boy, that rear sight is jacked up pretty far. Looks like a lower front sight is needed.

Hello all. Looking at a ordering one. I did have a couple questions. Though perhaps sacrilege to some, has anyone ported one of these? Curious if this would tame barrel flip. I think I also want to have mine given a black nitride finish. I always thought these would look good in a blue, but polisihed and then nitride is probably as close as it will come. Anyone see any issues with that? I believe nitride doesn't change tolerances.

I had one Magnaported. I couldn't tell the difference in recoil. As far as I was concerned, it was a waste of money getting it done.

Black Nitride, would be a great option for a finish. This process, actually gets into the pores of the metal, and hardens the steel. It is a durable finish, and is relatively inexpensive. I have had several guns done, using this process. It does not alter any dimensions.

I saw some photos of Black Nitrided pre production Automags. I think they may have been from the Shot Show, of several years ago. They looked pretty sharp.

Well I finally fired my first 25 rounds. I found the recoil was very manageable.  The gun was very accurate, but did not fire reliably out of the box… but to me this was as expected as I work through loads, and probably lubrication of key features such as the bolt and lugs. I did not swap out magazines like the Justin Opinion review, as I only took one to the range. They are very expensive and I think it is more about break-in.

Can anyone recommend a precision grease? My son recommended a military grease used for AR15 bolts.

I also remember from my early 80’s experience is that AutoMag’s like loads that are loaded to the high end.

Recommendations out there?

I haven't used the Automag oil yet - I'm using WeaponShield grease.
